Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma is an experienced academician with over 14 years of teaching experience in higher education and currently serves as Assistant Professor at Amrapali University, Haldwani. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Kumaun University along with MCA and BCA degrees from Uttarakhand Technical University and H.N.B. Garhwal University respectively. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional. His teaching expertise includes Programming Languages (C/C++/Java/Python/.NET), Data Structures, DBMS, Software Engineering, Operating Systems, Computer Graphics, Digital Electronics, and Computer System Architecture. He follows an outcome-based and practical teaching approach focused on developing industry-ready skills.

His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and ICT in Education. He has published research papers in IEEE conferences, Scopus-indexed proceedings, and UGC-approved journals and holds an Indian design patent titled “AI-Based Pest Capturing Agriculture Machine.

Dr. Sharma actively participates in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), seminars, workshops and conferences to enhance academic and professional competencies. while actively contributing to curriculum development, academic mentoring, and technology-enabled education.
