Dr. Deepa Aithani is a biotechnologist with research expertise in biochemical engineering, recombinant protein expression, molecular cloning, and the analytical characterization of biosimilar monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and antibody fragments (Fabs). She holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from CSIR–National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune. Her doctoral research focused on the development and optimization of recombinant expression systems and fermentation strategies for the production of recombinant human Ranibizumab (rHu Ranibizumab), a Fab fragment using Escherichia coli. Her research interests include microbial biotechnology, biopharmaceutical process development, and the optimization of recombinant therapeutic protein production.

She has made significant contributions to biotechnology research, with publications in peer-reviewed international journals and is an inventor of a US patent for an IPTG-free induction strategy for biosimilar antibody fragment production. Her academic excellence has been recognized through prestigious UGC Junior/Senior Research Fellowships (NET-JRF/SRF) and International Travel Support (ITS) from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India. Driven by a passion for scientific discovery, she is committed to fostering biotechnology education, advancing innovative research, and translating scientific knowledge into impactful biotechnological applications.
